Surface Separation and Production Equipment Training

This four hour class is designed to familarize oilfield employees with the basic design and function of an oilfield location and the associated equipment.  It includes oil and gas production equipment from the wellhead to the sales line.

Managers:  This is an ideal course to train new employees prior to sending them to an oilfield location.  It will help individuals understand the basics of how the equipment on location operates and the hazards involved. 

New personnel will find this training essential to improve safety, efficiency, and environmental awareness on assigned locations. 

In this class you will learn basics on:

  • Oil, water, and gas flow through the battery
  • Safe operation of valves
  • Vessel purpose, function, inlets, and outlets
  • Wellhead flows
  • Pumping unit safety
  • Working safely with line and vessel pressure

 

Equipment covered includes:  wellhead construction, valves, and flows; horizontal and vertical separators; heater treaters; gas production units; control valves; storage tanks; LACT units; and gas meters.

This training will be both in the classroom and on the NMJC Safe Oilfield Training Ground.  The cost of this training is $110 and includes a hard copy of the classroom presentation.
