Nominations Sought for Cowboy Hall of Fame

The Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame is seeking nominations for candidates for induction into the its Hall of Fame. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least twenty-one years old
- Must be a long-time resident of Lea County
- Must be a person of good character and reputation
- Must be a community leader
- Must be a distinguished rodeo performer, have had a helping hand in the development of the livestock industry, or the livestock industry must be their principal business
Only current members of the Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame may make nominations. If you are not a current member, you are encouraged to join before submitting a nomination. Membership forms can be found on the website (www.nmjc.edu/museum), or you may purchase a membership over the phone at 575-492-2678.
Nominations must be received no later than Friday, August 21, 2020. An electronic form is available on the website, and can be sent to TheMuseum@nmjc.edu.
The Board of Directors of the Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame will verify the nominees, and ballots will be mailed to all current Museum members in September. The 2020 Inductees will be honored at the Annual Llano Estacado Banquet either this year or in 2021, depending upon event gathering restrictions.
