New Mexico Junior College Celebrates Successful Fearless Concert Benefiting United Way of Lea County

 

HOBBS, NM – New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) is excited to announce the success of the Fearless Concert, an event that not only showcased incredible talent but also raised funds for a noble cause; the United Way of Lea County. This one-of-a-kind concert marked the debut of the Fearless Touring Ensemble, leaving a lasting impression on the community.

The Fearless Concert, held at the Ross Black Track and Field on Sept. 9, 2023, captivated the audience with its exceptional performances and breathtaking talent. The Fearless Touring Ensemble, comprising some of the most talented and dedicated students at NMJC delivered a memorable night of music, dance, and entertainment. The concert showcased the versatility and creativity of NMJC's performing arts students, highlighting their dedication to music, video, and entertainment!

In addition to the Fearless Touring Ensemble, the concert featured outstanding sets by Caldwell Entertainment, known for their mesmerizing stage presence, and The Electric Mambo, whose high-energy performance electrified the audience.

What made this event even more remarkable was its philanthropic aspect. The Fearless Concert raised funds for the United Way of Lea County, an organization committed to improving lives and strengthening communities. The concert demonstrated NMJC's commitment to making a positive impact beyond the campus boundaries, aligning with its core values of community engagement and service.

"We are incredibly proud of the Fearless Concert's success and the exceptional talents displayed by our students," said Dustin Garrett, Professor/Director of Entertainment & Music Technology. “This event exemplifies the spirit of the institution, where creativity and compassion come together to benefit the community it serves. In addition to the student performers for the concert, everything behind the scenes was student led and produced giving these entertainment tech students hands on experience in live productions, and serving as an interactive lab.”

Looking ahead, NMJC is excited to continue its tradition of bringing outstanding talent to the community. The next concert in the series will feature a country dance and concert, headlined by rising performer Will Banister. With his unique style and magnetic stage presence, Banister promises an unforgettable experience for country music enthusiasts and concertgoers alike.
