The New Mexico Junior College Foundation Annual Golf Tournament raised more money than previous year. The event took place June 8 at Rockwind Community Links in Hobbs, New Mexico. This year’s tournament brought in roughly $75,000 through 50 area sponsors, player registration fees, and mulligans.

Additionally, 50 two-person teams registered to play in this event. “This year’s event represented an amazing turnout of support from many of our area community members and businesses,” said NMJC Vice President for Advancement Rachel Gallagher. “We are so grateful to everyone who supported this event as proceeds from the event go to such a great cause in supporting NMJC scholarships and programs.”

Bryson and Kyleigh McGowen (a brother-sister team) took first place in the tournament. Kyleigh just completed her first year at NMJC and played on the inaugural Women’s Golf Team. Other tournament winners included Ralph Marquez and Alex Aranda who earned 2nd place, and Manny and Zoe Munoz, a father-daughter team, who finished 3rd place. Zoe Munoz will be joining the NMJC Women’s Golf team this fall. The 25th Annual NMJC Foundation Golf Tournament is slated for June 7, 2025 at Rockwind Community Links in Hobbs.
