Sauceda to Address New Mexico Oil & Gas Association on Key Industry Developments
Hobbs, New Mexico – Sept. 20, 2023 – New Mexico Junior College Vice President for Workforce Development, Steve Sauceda has been invited to speak at the New Mexico Oil & Gas Association (NMOGA) Annual Conference Oct. 8 - 10 in Santa Fe, NM.
NMOGA is a coalition of oil and natural gas companies, individuals, and stakeholders committed to advancing safe and environmentally responsible oil and natural gas development in New Mexico. With a membership of more than 1,000, NMOGA collaborates with elected officials, community leaders, industry experts, and the public to advocate for responsible industry policies and enhance public awareness of the sector's contributions to the state.
New Mexico is a prominent player in the U.S. oil and natural gas landscape, primarily centered around the Permian Basin in the southeast and the San Juan Basin in the northwest. The state ranks second in annual oil production and ninth in annual natural gas production, reflecting its significant role in the industry. As the Permian Basin experiences a resurgence in production and investment, New Mexico's oil and natural gas sector continues to draw global attention.
Sauceda, a respected leader in workforce development in New Mexico, will share insights into the critical role of education and workforce training in supporting the evolving needs of the oil and natural gas industry. His presentation will address the importance of preparing a skilled workforce to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the industry's growth.
"I am honored to have been asked to speak at the New Mexico Oil & Gas Annual Meeting this October in Santa Fe," said Sauceda. "I will be sitting on a panel, alongside a K-12 superintendent and the executive director of an educational non-profit. I have been invited to speak on the importance of workforce training and education pathways in the energy sector. I count it a privilege to represent NMJC and the workforce development division at this event and share some best practices in workforce development with leaders in the energy industry."
The NMOGA conference provides a platform for industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and insights on key developments in the sector.
