The Instructor Guide page provides detailed information about teaching with Canvas and how to utilize integrated educational tools. This is created as a reference page for hybrid and online instructors who have already been teaching online for us or have already successfully completed both the Professional Development I and II courses.

Professional Development I (Canvas for Teaching)
This is a self-paced course designed to familiarize instructors with the basics of Canvas and with the standards of Distance Learning upon which will prepare the new instructors for the Professional Development II: designing and managing online courses. New F2F and online instructors are required to complete this training course prior to or as they concurrently teach face-to-face or online courses.
Professional Development II (Designing and Managing Online Courses)
This is a self-paced course designed to teach the foundational knowledge and skills needed to develop an online course that includes the exploration of the course design cycle, learning theories and best practices. It provides a “hands-on” approach to understanding the online. Course design cycle by modularization and alignment. New online instructors are required to complete this training course prior to or as they concurrently teach online courses.
