Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame

Every year, students in the 4th grade are invited to New Mexico Junior College campus to discover how life has changed on the Llano Estacado, also known as the Staked Plains.  Students are led to various stations where they will learn about roping, branding, agriculture, and so much more.  After eating lunch (their own brown bag lunch), students are treated to a special performance which may include trick ropers, rodeo athletes, and more.
