Welcome to the New Mexico Junior College Transportation Safety Training webpage. We are proud to serve your transportation safety needs. Our trainings are taught by highly skilled and trained instructors who pride themselves in professionalism. Whether you are wanting to obtain your Commercial Driver’s License or have a teenager wanting to get their first time driver’s license, we offer these classes.

We currently offer Commercial Driver's License Training. Depending on a person's experience, we offer classes ranging from one to three weeks. The training allows drivers to perfect their skills with a tractor/trailer both on the training pad as well as the public roadway. Once completed with the training, the student will be scheduled to take their required skills test with one of our Third Party CDL Test Examiners.

We are a Third Party CDL Testing Site which conducts required CDL Skills testing for the State of New Mexico. New Mexico Junior College has testing sites in Hobbs, Portales, Raton, and Taos. To schedule a test once a driver has met the requirements of their Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP), please contact our office to set up the test.

We also offer Defensive Driving classes in both English and Spanish. The Defensive Driving class is licensed and approved by the New Mexico Traffic Safety Division and accepted by the courts for citations received. The Defensive Driving classes are offered on a monthly basis on Saturdays.

Our Driver Education class is also licensed and approved by the New Mexico Traffic Safety Division and is required by New Mexico Law for anyone under the age of 18 to obtain their Driver’s License. This class is offered year round for students, with multiple classes during the summer months.

Need to attend a DWI School to get your license back or for court? We offer a 12 hour licensed and approved DWI School. The school is licensed and approved by New Mexico Traffic Safety Division. The class is offered in both English and Spanish.

New Mexico Junior College is proud to announce a new training for 2018. We are offering a two day (16 hour) DOT Compliance/Audit Workshop. This training will provide employers who have Commercial Motor Vehicles with the necessary tools to be successful in following the USDOT regulations and what would be looked at should their company be audited by the USDOT.
