Hobbs’ Goblin: The Great Lea County “Mellerdrammer”
November 13 — Hobbs, NM. Once upon a time, there was a small unnamed town in the soon to be state of New Mexico. Some of its inhabitants are Widow Eunice Humble, Sheriff Lovington Caprock, Hagerman Hobbs, Judge Roswell Vaughn, and Artesia Loving. Do the names sound familiar? They all star in Hobbs’ Goblin: “The Great Lea County Mellerdrammer”, which is written and directed by John R. Rice. A melodrama is – for those unfamiliar with the term – an extravagant slapstick comedy in which audience participation is encouraged. Tune in next week and find out more on what happens, or better yet, come see the play at Watson Hall Theatre on the NMJC campus on November 20, 21, 22 at 8 p.m. and the 23 at 2 p.m.
