NMJC to Showcase Art Class Exhibit

April 21, 2006 — Hobbs, NM. Five art students at New Mexico Junior College will be honored next week on campus when their works go on display in Watson Hall on Monday, May 1 – Friday, May 5. A reception will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 2, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m., also in Watson Hall.

According to the class instructor, Karen Wiley, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame, the students are eagerly looking forward to the exhibit. “The students can hardly wait for their families to see what they’ve worked on all semester,” said Wiley. “I’m extremely proud and truly excited for their friends and family, as well as the general public, to see what these talented students have produced.”

This student art exhibit complements a larger, feature exhibit, “Young Artists of Lea County,” which is currently on display at the Western Heritage Museum. For more information about either exhibit, please contact Karen Wiley at 392-6730.
