T-bird Basketball Teams Host Clinic
January 19, 2006 — Hobbs, NM. New Mexico Junior College men’s and women’s basketball teams are hosting a clinic for area elementary students.
Come one, come all area first- through sixth graders from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 21 join the T-bird basketball players and coaches for a fun and exciting clinic. Students will learn and build on basketball fundamentals, while spending the morning with student athletes who have come to NMJC from all over the globe.
“This is a chance for students to have a good time while they learn and enhance their basketball skills,” said NMJC assistant men’s basketball coach John Baldwin. “But the day is not just about passing and shooting. It is a chance for young students to be exposed to college athletes, who are dedicated to both academics and their sport.”
The clinic, held in the Caster Activity Center on the NMJC campus, costs $25. Students will get a t-shirt, basketball and a pizza party with NMJC teams after the clinic. Registration is from 8-9 a.m. in the activity center.
