NMJC Basketball Camps Set for June
6/11/2013 11:06:52 a.m. - Hobbs, NM. HOBBS – New Mexico Junior College will host several basketball camps for during June.
Following is a rundown of each camp.
Tiny T-Bird. Designed to introduce young children to basketball. Campers will learn basic skills and rules of the game. Fun activities and contests will be used to encourage enthusiasm about basketball.
Ages 5-8, girls and boys. June 24-27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Girls Fundamental Camp. Campers will learn and practice basic offensive and defensive principles and will compete in team and individual games.
Girls 9-16, June 24-27, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Girls Offensive Skills Camp. Older girls focus on offensive skills only. Shooting form, one-on-one moves, movement without the ball, passing and ball handling. Campers will learn techniques, games and drills to enforce good offensive habits.
Girls 9-16, June 28-29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Registration: June 28
Camps will be at the Caster Activity Center.
All campers will receive a basketball and T-shirt.
Registration begins June 24 at 8:30 a.m.
