NMJC Spring Fling 2009
4/9/2009 10:43:07 a.m. - Hobbs, NM. New Mexico Junior College is celebrating warmer weather and longer days with its annual Spring Fling.
NMJC students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in a variety of entertaining events happening all week. Starting Monday, April 13, spray can artists, Joe & Lefty, will be creating unique designs on t-shirts, pillowcases, and anything else that can be decorated. Stop by and see them in the Caster Courtyard. On Tuesday, come by the T-Bird Room in the Ben Alexander Student Center to the have your photo placed in a "Crystal Image." Flip books will be available in the T-Bird Room on Wednesday, and stop by the new Student Apartment courtyard on Thursday for Frisbee spin art. All activities are from 10am to 2pm and free to students, faculty and staff.
On Friday, April 17, the community is invited to participate in "Pack-the-Park" Day. Starting at noon, the NMJC Thunderbird Baseball team will go up against the Odessa College Wranglers at the NMJC baseball field. Spectators will be treated to free hotdogs and hamburgers.
Area high school students are also invited to come out and tour the NMJC Student Apartments on Friday. Admission Specialists will be there to show students the beautiful apartments and answer any questions about attending NMJC. There will be a live remote, cotton candy, snow cones, and hands-on activities in the new courtyard. A ribbon cutting will follow to celebrate the completion of the courtyard.
