Voice-Acting Class offered at NMJC

9/23/2008 11:16:11 a.m. - Hobbs, NM. Getting Paid to Talk? With a little training, it is possible! Voice Coaches, a voice-acting training group, will be offering an introduction to voice class at New Mexico Junior College on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at 6:30 p.m.

Every day, you hear trained professionals use their voice on commercials, radio, the Internet, training videos, and audio books. Through this two and a half hour non-credit class, students will learn what goes into becoming one of these professionals. Instructor Mike Massa will guide students through the basics of voice acting all the way to recording in a studio and attaining a job in the field.

Massa, a professional voice-actor, has worked for well-known names such as CBS Television and MTV. With his help, students of the class will take the first steps into the world of voice acting and even have the opportunity to record a mock commercial.

The one-time class will be held in Room 122A of the NMJC Training and Outreach Facility and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cost for the course is a very affordable $29 per attendee. For more information or to register, please contact Barbara Summers at (575) 492-4709.
