NMJC & Midland College to Offer Distance Learning Opportunities
11/1/2007 3:31:40 p.m. - Hobbs, NM. After nearly a year of discussions and preparations, New Mexico Junior College and Midland College's Petroleum Professional Development Center (PPDC) will jointly offer oil and gas training courses, which begin this month, via distance learning to the Hobbs area.
Dr. Robert Rhodes, NMJC Vice President for Training & Outreach, sees the value of the schools' collaboration. "Each school has its particular strengths in offering technical and associate degree coursework. NMJC is pleased to have an alliance with Midland College and looks forward to also broadcasting coursework from NMJC to Midland College as each school defines their needs."
Mr. Hoxie Smith, Director of Midland College's PPDC, says, "This alliance between NMJC and Midland College should be beneficial to oil and gas professionals in Hobbs that require additional oilfield related training or simply need continuing education to keep their certifications current."
Courses to be offered this fall include Land and Leasing - Oil and Gas; Pipeline and Process Engineering (Knowledge Reservoir); The Well Planning Process; Managing Sucker Rod Lift Well Failures; and Quick Guide to Carbonate Well Log Analysis with Flow Chart, Case Studies.
