NMJC's Sandoval in the Lead at CNFR
6/14/2007 2:39:25 p.m. - Hobbs, NM. New Mexico Junior College's Alicia Sandoval is leading the barrel-racing event at the College National Finals Rodeo after three rounds, with an aggregate score of 42.02.
On Wednesday, Sandoval, a sophomore from Bloomfield, NM, and last year's reserve national champion, finished the third round with an impressive time of 13.85. She finished round one with a time of 14.17 and round two with a flat 14.00.
Sandoval's composite score of 42.02 is .45 seconds faster than second place. With one half of the third go complete, Sandoval should remain in the top ten, which would send her to the finals round on Saturday night.
Kyle French will see third round action in bull riding Friday night. If French scores well enough, he could also see action in the finals round.
