New Mexico Junior College proudly announces that 55% of its student-athletes achieved a grade point average of at least 3.0 or higher, during the Fall 2016 semester. Forty of the student-athletes accomplished a GPA of 3.5 or higher, with six of them having a perfect 4.0.  There are 126 total student-athletes.

“These students work hard, both in their sport and academically,” says Deron Clark, NMJC’s Athletic Director. “The coaches’ first priority is their education. When students are accepted into our athletic program, they know that they will receive an excellent education, along with playing in a sport they love. We are very proud of their accomplishments.”

The golf team had the highest GPA of 3.58, with 7 out of 8 players named to the honor roll, and three of their student-athletes attaining a 4.0. Second place was the track and field team with a 3.42 GPA. Third place was the women’s basketball team with 3.04.

The student-athletes were recognized at the January 30th basketball game during the men’s halftime. They each received a certificate from the Athletic Director.
