11/25/2014 4:49:28 p.m. - Hobbs, NM.
The Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame will host its final 2014 FREE Family Fun Day on Saturday, December 6 from 10 am until 3 pm. Visitors can enjoy more than forty-five beautifully decorated Christmas trees, Bonnie Moran’s North Pole Village and free children’s craft activities.
“This is the first time we have offered this program at the Western Heritage Museum,” noted Executive Director Dr. Darrell Beauchamp. “We believe a program like this will be very popular.”
Several different kinds of activities are planned including a cookie decorating station, a “Sock Santa” station, hand-made greeting cards and ornaments, and rag dolls, just to name a few. Beauchamp noted that the day will be an opportunity for families to come out to the Museum and enjoy creating some of the crafts of the season.
“We have had a lot of fun with our Family Fun Days this year,” said Director of Education, Mary Lyle. “This will be the final opportunity this year for children and adults to spend time together learning and sharing their creativity.”
The Museum Store has many specialty items available for your gift giving needs. Free gift-wrapping is available for purchases of $10 or more.
A free screening of the holiday movie, “A Christmas Story” will be in the Museum’s theater at 2 pm.
There is no registration required, but an adult must accompany all children. For more information call 575-492-2678 or visit our website www.nmjc.edu/museum.
